Ed is the PI of the lab. He’s always loved science, which turns out to be useful for a professional scientist. He holds a Bachelors and PhD in Biomedical Engineering but is not actually capable of engineering much. He likes to put his feet up and talk about science as much as possible.
In his free time, Ed is playing with his kids, traveling, and constantly updating his prior that the best food in New York City costs less than fifteen dollars.

Daniel Barbakoff
Medical Student

Ziad Bakouny, MD
Medical Oncology Fellow
Ziad is a medical oncology fellow and physician-scientist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, specializing in genitourinary malignancies, including prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers. He earned his MD and MSc from the Université Saint-Joseph in Beirut, Lebanon, followed by a research fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. Ziad’s research integrates computational and experimental approaches to address questions at the interface of clinical informatics, cancer genomics, and tumor metabolism. His goal is to translate molecular insights into meaningful improvements in cancer outcomes for patients.
Outside of work, Ziad enjoys traveling, playing soccer, and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Sonia Boscenco
PhD Student (PBSB)
Sonia is a PhD student in the Physiology, Biophysics and Systems Biology Program at Weill Cornell. She completed her undergraduate degree at McGill University in Neuroscience and Computer Science. Sonia is interested in utilizing computational approaches to understand the pathophysiology of cancer cachexia.
In her free time, Sonia enjoys dancing, reading, and trying new recipes.

Venise Jan Castillon
MSK Bridge Program Scholar

Alex Guo
PhD Student (CBM)

Lamiah Khan
Machine Learning Intern (Engage Scholar)
Lamiah is an undergraduate student in the Engage Program at Memorial Sloan Kettering. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. Lamiah is interested in applying machine learning to identify and characterize prognostic factors that influence cancer survival outcomes.
Outside of her academic pursuits, she enjoys reading, painting, and playing badminton.

Andrea Lopez Sanmiguel
Medical Student
Andrea is a Research Associate at SKI-Surgery, where she focuses on kidney cancer. She earned her MD from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. Andrea’s work includes tumor sample collection and translational research projects that evaluate kidney cancer treatments and patient outcomes. Her research connects laboratory findings with clinical practice to help improve therapies for kidney cancer patients.
Outside of work, Andrea enjoys music, rollerblading, and traveling.

Saksham Mohan
Machine Learning Intern

Neil Ruthen
PhD Student (PBSB)
Neil is a PhD student in the Physiology, Biophysics, and Systems Biology Program at Weill Cornell. After completing his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Mathematics at Oberlin College, he conducted research on the molecular mechanisms of chronic lymphocytic leukemia tumorigenesis as a computational biologist at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Currently, Neil is investigating the relationship between mitochondrial heteroplasmy and cancer progression through the lens of multiomic datasets.
Whenever he has time, he loves to sing (may have a soft spot for karaoke), play tennis, and walk around NYC with his wife and dog.

Anirudh Sridharan, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow
Anirudh is a postdoctoral researcher in Ed Reznik’s lab at MSK. He completed all of his education in India, from bachelor’s through PhD, and is broadly interested in metabolism—how it influences cells, physiology, and behavior.
Outside the lab, he enjoys exploring the city with his wife, watching films and TV series, and more recently, exploring Broadway theatre.

Ethan Tse
PhD Student (PBSB)
Ethan is a PhD student in the Physiology, Biophysics, and Systems Biology Program at Weill Cornell. He completed his BSc in Microbiology and Immunology at The University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He then conducted two years of lymphoma research at the BC Cancer Research Institute in Dr. Christian Steidl’s lab before starting his PhD. His current research is on the interactions between systemic physiology and cancer, using obesity and cancer as a guiding example.
Outside of the lab, Ethan enjoys hiking, cooking, working out, and traveling.

River Walser
High School Intern

Jamie Wang
PhD Student (PBSB)
Jamie is a PhD student in the Physiology, Biophysics and Systems Biology Program at Weill Cornell, and is co-mentored by Dr. Wesley Tansey and Dr. Ed Reznik in Computational Oncology at MSK. He completed his undergraduate studies at Duke University, where he double-majored in Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science, with a minor in Religion. As an undergraduate, he conducted research on active machine learning methods and machine learning applications for drug discovery. Currently, Jamie is interested in utilizing deep learning methods to identify clinically relevant subtypes of cancer cachexia.
Outside of research, he enjoys playing volleyball, visiting the Met, and watching movies at the Metrograph (not sponsored)
